IKS Comptroller Helene Gielen Visits KSPI, the First in Asia

Knowing the stories and the people behind the numbers, IKS Comptroller Helene Gielen visited KSPI on April 19-23, 2017. Such visit focused in the management of BMZ Fund by the KSPI, its programs in formation and capacity building, technical vocational and microfinance.

Ms. Gielen introduced the BMZ Fund to the new Executive Director. She checked thoroughly the records on file, the management of such fund and resolved issues and concerns by the Administrative and Finance Unit of the KSPI including its micro-finance arm, the KMFI.

In the ground, she visited the St. Francis of Assisi KF in San Francisco, Naga City, St Claire KF in Tigaon, Camarines Sur and Saints Phillip and James KF in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur. These areas have different livelihood projects and programs. St. Francis of Assisi has candle making project while St. Claire KF has bakery project. Sts. Phillip and James KF has different kinds of livelihood projects ranging from small retail store, native industry, buying and selling of agricultural products, backyard piggery and native delicacies processing.

All of these Kolping Families have undergone series of formation sessions and trainings. Other livelihood projects are the result of the technical vocational skills training intervention. The last day of the visit was wrapped-up in an exit conference at the Parish Office of St. Anthony of Padua, Iriga City with the National Praeses Rev. Msgr. Nono Saṅado, HP and the rest of the KSPI staff and members of the Board of Trustees.
